The influencing factors of Self-esteem, problem-solving ability and Nursing Professionalism on Career Identity in College Nursing Students

Abstract

|
Objective : The purpose of this study is to identify self-esteem, problem-solving ability, and professional intuition, and to explore career identity.
Methods : This research design is a cross-sectional correlation study to identify the relationship between self-esteem, problem-solving ability, nursing professionalism, and career identity of nursing students, and to identify their effects on their identity. 150 4th grade nursing students from University C in U Metropolitan City were targeted. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS program.
Results : Nursing students' self-esteem, problem-solving ability, nursing professionalism and career identity were self-esteem (r=.628, p<.001), nursing professionalism (r=.596, p=.001), problem-solving ability ( There was a positive correlation with r=.336, p<.001). The variables influencing career identity were satisfaction with college life, satisfaction with major at the time of admission, satisfaction with current major, academic achievement, self-esteem, problem-solving ability, and nursing professionalism, and the explanatory power of these variables was 54.6%
Conclusion : In this study, to establish career identity of nursing students, related factors were identified and the influence of future nursing competencies such as self-esteem, problem-solving ability, and nursing professionalism on career identity was confirmed.
